Zyvo exists because of a cat named Shifu.
I had Shifu for almost 14 years. He came into my life when I was still a child and walked beside me through some of the most important moments of my life. He wasn't just a pet, he was my best friend.
In May 2026, I lost him.
It was one of the hottest days of the year. Shifu spent most of it resting outside, and as the temperature climbed, I grew more and more worried he wasn't drinking enough. I tried everything I could think of. I placed fresh water in front of him, tapped the surface to catch his attention, even lifted him into the sink where he always loved to drink from the tap. Each time, he turned away.
That evening, we found him lying peacefully just outside our garden door.
In the days and weeks that followed, the house felt different. No greeting at the door. No familiar face in the garden. No quiet companionship that I hadn't even realised I depended on until it was gone. Losing Shifu left a hole I wasn't prepared for, one that never quite goes away.
I'll never know exactly why he passed. But I've never stopped thinking about that day. About the water I placed in front of him. About whether I could have done more.
Some questions never have answers. But they lead you to ask different ones.
The more I researched feline hydration, the more I realised how many cats silently struggle with it, and how many owners feel as helpless as I did.
I couldn't save Shifu. But maybe I could help someone else's cat.
That's why I created Zyvo, a cat wellness brand focused on making hydration simple, natural, and appealing for cats who won't drink enough on their own.
Every bottle is made in memory of a cat who was deeply loved and is missed every single day.
His name was Shifu.
And this is for him.
